    Brexit preparations notice from BlueStar

BlueStar Europe Distribution is committed to providing the finest customer service, especially at a time of uncertainty generated by a possible no-deal Brexit, resulting in the UK suddenly leaving the EU Customs Union.

For all our UK customers we have decided to remove any uncertainty regarding your operations with us, whatever the outcome regarding Brexit.

For all our UK customers we have decided to remove any uncertainty regarding your operations with us, whatever the outcome regarding Brexit.

Shipments to UK for UK VAT registered customers

As from 01 April 2019 we will begin invoicing all our customers who are registered for VAT in the UK, directly from our UK Branch, as a domestic UK supply with UK VAT included on our invoice.

This means whatever the outcome regarding Brexit, you will not have to worry about making any special arrangements, BlueStar will take care of arranging the transport and customs clearance of your orders. You will be purchasing with UK VAT from a UK company, BlueStar’s UK Branch, who will arrange for your goods to be delivered directly to you, or to your customer, in the UK.

Your existing account with BlueStar will still be valid. Please prepare your company to place orders to, and receive invoices from, the BlueStar UK Branch as from 01 April 2019, with the following details:

BlueStar Europe Distribution BV UK Branch

    Unit 5, Marconi Gate

    Staffordshire Technology Park,

    Stafford,

    ST18 0FZ

    VAT Nº GB236962676

Please note all invoices issued by our UK Branch will always be with the currency GBP. If you require invoicing in EUR, we cannot offer this option of a UK domestic sale, you will have to open a separate account with our Dutch head office, and you will be invoiced as an intra-community supply before the UK leaves the EU Customs Union, and an export sale after the UK leaves the EU Customs Union

Shipments to EU for UK VAT registered customers

For UK customers who wish us to deliver goods to their customers in the other EU27 countries, we can continue to offer this possibility from 01 April 2019 with the following conditions:

    • You will need a second account with BlueStar, with our Dutch head office.
    • Whilst the UK remains in the EU Customs Union you may use your UK VAT number to open this second account.
    • After the UK leaves the EU Customs Union you will need to obtain a VAT number issued by an EU member state to open, or maintain, this second account.
    • BlueStar will invoice you using your EU VAT number as a zero VAT rated intra-community supply.
    • The exception will be as our warehouse is based in The Netherlands, any deliveries we make within The Netherlands will be invoiced with Dutch VAT.

Please contact your BlueStar Sales Representative if you require a second BlueStar account with our Dutch office.

Shipments to non-EU destinations for UK VAT registered customers

For any UK customers who wish us to deliver goods to their customers in a non-EU country, we will continue to offer this possibility from 01 April 2019, we will make an export shipment from our Dutch warehouse and you will be invoiced with zero VAT on your account with our UK Branch.

Shipments to UK for EU27 customers

For any EU271 customers who wish us to ship to an address in the UK, we will continue to arrange this for you, however, if the UK leaves the EU Customs Union, all such shipments will be export shipments from The Netherlands to the UK, and therefore the receiver in the UK must be aware they will have to import the goods into the UK and pay UK VAT and customs duties, they will need a UK EORI number to be able to do this. Also, there will be a mandatory minimum value of €200 for any single shipment to the UK.

1 EU27: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.

We are sure these new arrangements will allow a smooth transition of your operations with BlueStar to any possible outcome regarding Brexit over the coming days. If you have any doubts or questions, please do not hesitate to contact your BlueStar Sales Representative.
